Hi Giggster!

Sorry that we weren't able to get together for a ride before you left for the Gulf Islands. Trust you enjoyed a wonderful long weekend. Weather turned out to be remarkable here so we really were fortunate, from a cycling point of view, at least.
What are your plans? All the best for now. Cheers, Patrizzio!

P, our weekend in Seattle was great -- mostly wandering around the town eating and drinking. The forecast looks more inviting tomorrow. We might be able to get out if that works for you. Fond regards to everyone there, W

Guy, the book title is: Blood: The Stuff of Life. See you Sunday. G

La Jolla!
Ah, I see. In that case, if I have read both Hill blood books do I get extra credit in the form of a bottle of rare single malt? Or at least a free transfusion? Guy

You get a Hill of beans which you can wash down with Black Maple Hill Premium Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon.

Dear Phlebotomists, Lobotomists and Baldersdash Mountain Men!

Just a slight correction to the tipple available on Sunday next. It is Through Black Spruce Premium Small Batch Chill Filtered Straight High Test Float Plane Fuel, quite a few steps up from the regular porch climber and chain cleaner most of the NRBC louts are used to swilling, one swig of same which Special Agent Dwight C. Holly allows himself per day!

Hint: Wheelmen, Read Current Book Selection to understand not so subtle literary reference!

Cheers, Il Conductore, Able Bodied Mechanic, First Class, Spruce Harbour Marina, on loan to Admiral Barnacle of Rum Runner infamy until Operation Bootleg, (D Day, November 18th, Spanish Banks Beachhead), is concluded! Get situated or re-situated, as case might be, or vibes won't mean much!

Hi Beatricce!

Grand that you are free on the weekend of the 23rd/24th. Unfortunately, Cora Lee won't be flying down until the morning of Thanksgiving so you won't have a chance to see her. Nevertheless, I'll be in touch with Ayn to see which day might be best for her. I suspect Sunday, the 24th but I could be mistaken. In any event, probably a brunch or perhaps a late lunch might work for you, in terms of traveling so let me know what you think on that account. I'm fine with dinner but know how you Tinsel Towners need to be with freeway travel, etc. Of course if a later meal is better for you, for whatever reasons, that would be great too.

Not sure if I had mentioned, at some point,
that I bought a foldable road bike, Navigator, in York and used it everywhere. Fabulous riding, especially in France. Certainly made the entire holiday a more than wonderful one, being able to exercise regularly, most every day. Otherwise I'm sure I'd have gained forty pounds, not just the twenty you mention, given all the wonderful food and wine I couldn't resist!

Supposed to be cloudy for most of the morning/early afternoon here today so perhaps I'll try to time things right and ride up to VGH to visit Paul before 3:00 pm and stay until it stops raining! I'll let you know what Ayn says about date and then be in touch. All the best for now. Fondestos from Cora Lee. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Janet!

Welcome Home! Unfortunately, when you read this it will be Welcome Back to Work as well! Hope you have had a chance to recover by now. You are, perhaps, my most diligent reader so thank you for your discipline and your kind comments. I certainly plan to follow your "command" regarding your blog but will read it while away in California. Literally no time beforehand as I'm behind in my book, James Ellroy's Blood's a Rover, for Sunday's Book Club, day before I leave for Tinsel Town and I have hardly unpacked from Europe! I did forward your message to friends in Naramata, (ones we hope to travel with), and they were delighted to receive it.

I hope we can get together in early December, (We are back by the 3rd), to catch up and begin "consulting" about India. Hope work is not too, too daunting this first week. All those emails, all that unopened mail, all those demanding, obnoxious patrons, all those endless meetings! All the best for now. Fondestos from Cora Lee. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Marilyn and Big Al!

Trust you are both well. Did you spend this past long weekend at the cabin?
Funnily enough, guess who was at Canadian Memorial as well?  Heraldo and Sue! Had a good visit with them during coffee after service, before Piano Man had to set up. Fondestos from Cora Lee to you both. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Patrice,

Thanks for the update and invitation to imbibe on your newly aqired scotch supply!  Sounds like a fantastic service you attended and would have enjoyed it a great deal myself by the sounds of it. I recently read a book called Zorro which is concerned with the assassination of martin Luther King and the events of the day. It strongly points to a conspiracy carried out at the very very highest levels of the U.S. government at the time. To hear a contemporary of MLK. at the time would have been fascinating.

We did spend the weekend at the cabin and had a friend and co-worker, Jerry Dryden from the cruise ship work ( the one stranded in Korea as you may recall)  as well as Colleen`s sister Maureen. Jerry and I spent a day doing a Reno involving cutting a new door into the basement to house the growing fleet of recreational vehicles.

Maureen and Jerry left on Sunday afternoon and then a couple who spent time tutoring Jesse through high school, Ted and Monique and who we became friends with came up to stay for a couple nights and we spent Saturday night with them and then left them to stay by themselves on Sunday night. We had  a really nice and relaxing time and definitely didn't`t feel like leaving but of course I had some work to do and Colleen had to prepare for school.

I`m still working on the show but will probably wrap it up at the beginning of December and then go for a week to work on a dry dock in Esquimalt with Jerry and the  the HMS group that I`ve done other cruise ship work with. I could just keep on working on the show and would actually de better off financially  but given that Michael Stone who is the chief has taken me to Australia four times now as well as the Bahamas I figured it was the right thing to do to help him out. I will probably work for  a week as Colleen is having a minor surgery on the 17th and I will need to be around to help her recover.

We would certainly love to see you guys soon and maybe in the next two weeks we could arrange something, I will talk to Colleen and see what dates we have and get back to you a.s.a.p..Take care and talk to you soon, Cheers, Al
Hi Patrick,

Good to hear from you and glad to hear Dusty and Clara are settled back into Vancity.
All is very well here. Mom is managing really well, probably better than I am right now. Other than having the occassal snafu with a myriad of medical appointments everything could not be more smooth for her. She has missed 3 Sundays due to snow but other than that her social calendar puts mine to shame.

Please say hi to everyone in Vancouver for us and I will pass your message on to Mom.
Cheers!  Tom

Hello Pat!

Lovely to hear from you :-) Thank you for the invite, I would absolutely love to come by for dinner and see you all but as for Thanksgiving, I currently have plans with my cousin and his kids. I think he and his ex-wife are just working out between them how long we actually get them for on the day, so to be honest I think Thanksgiving will probably not work. I think we get them until 4-5pm.

I definitely want to see you and finally meet Ayn too! Can we please get a date in the diary? We are both in Simi so have to make this happen! Just for reference, I'm at Cochran and Erringer.

Feel free to call me when you arrive 805 904 5547. I hope you have a safe journey! See you soon!
Lauren
Hi Colin and Jo-Ann!

Was the last joke from Garrison Keillor's Prairie Home Companion! Trust you are both well.
Perhaps we can get together in early December, (We are back by the 3rd), to catch up. Fondestos from Cora Lee. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Scrabble Queen and Grumpiest of Grumpy Ones! (Red Heads Unite!)

Trust you are both well. Did you spend this past long weekend doing anything but having fun? Glad winterization went well. Please accept belated birthday wishes, Little White of Little Shuswap, as Cora Lee thinks it was your birthday recently: For She's a Jolly Good Fellow! Hip Hip Hooray!!!
Perhaps we can get together in early December to catch up and plan Parksville visit. Fondestos from Cora Lee to you both. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Vinnie The Hiker!

Trust you are both well in spite of neighbourhood association entanglements. I'll bring along an able bodied seaman, (see below), to help you find the buried treasure.
Cheers, Patrizzio!

Thanks for warning me that there was a nugget of interactive interest buried in the narrative. Actually, your narrative was quite engaging! Did you know that I was also in Selma for the march? We can talk about that. Captain Barnacle, aka Andre, is welcome to join you. Perhaps we can spare him Boris, Natasha and their offspring.

On Wed. I have my men's group; in fact, I am leaving he group, a rare and somewhat courageous act on my part, and the 20th will be my last day at the group. So I am planning to attend, and we can have dinner after I get back at 7:45 or so. I will of course have a dinner ready to go, and Nancy will be here during the evening to receive you as I hope you will get here earlier than that. DO keep us informed of your variation from schedule should such pop up. I look forward to trading yarns and opening bottles with you and Capt. B.
Cactus

Hi Carlos!

Trust you are both well. Did you spend this past long weekend doing anything but having fun or making bucketfuls of money?
Bridge in early December, (We are back by the 3rd), to catch up. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Angler Man!

Trust you are well. How is your knee? You did send hat website along earlier but like you, I had forgotten about it as well. Did you spend an enjoyable long weekend?
Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Tinsel Queen!

Here is part of message I sent to Henie on LinkedIn:

Hi Henie!

Trust you are well. Not sure if you have been in touch with Ayn lately but I am driving down to Tinsel Town to house/cat sit for her cousin, Rick, in Simi Valley. We will celebrate Thanksgiving there with her and Los Horridos. Cora Lee is flying down that morning as she has too, too many volunteer meetings beforehand to drive with me.
Friend, Branko, aka Admiral Barnacle, because he lives on his boat at a marina not far from us, will be driving down to Simi Valley with me so perhaps you'll have a chance to meet him. I'm trying to organize a brunch or perhaps a late lunch, or even a dinner, on the weekend of the 23rd/24th so if you are free and interested you might wish to think about joining us. At any rate, let me know your thoughts and we can plan accordingly.

Have also sent a message to Beatricce, from Pasadena, as that weekend is best for her. Which day would be most convenient for you and The Lost Burritos, assuming everyone is interested to come out to Simi Suburbia? Nana is ferrying your Grandparents to their medical appointments, bank, etc, as I scribe. She left a message for Erich but haven't heard from him yet. Let you know what you think about weekend before Thanksgiving. All the best for now. Fondestos, Love and Cheers, Dad!

Hi Todd Rumbaba!

Trust you are well. How is life at the top? Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Tom!

Trust you and your family are well. Clara and Dusty have been here since October 31st. Both are well. How is your Mom? Please send her our fond regards. Cheers, Patrizzio!
Hi Pat!

Trust you and David are well. We arrived back in Vancouver on October 19th after three wonderful, wonderful months in Europe. Scads to do to catch up after being away for so long.Things have not let up since we touched down
. Look forward to seeing you both next week. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Ricardo!

Trust you and Rae, Judy, Joey and Chandler are well. We arrived back in Vancouver on October 19th after three wonderful, wonderful months in Europe. Scads to do to catch up after being away for so long. I assume all is still on for Canadian Invasion of Fort Simi!
I will be driving down on November 18th and expect to arrive, from Berkeley, sometime on the 21st. What time are you leaving? If we don't connect, do I need to know anything? Cat food, etc. Will door be wide open with all your guard cats? If not, under the front door mat or elsewhere? At a neigbour's? In locked wine cellar, inside house. That makes things easier! Where to sleep? Close friend, Ragin' Bull, aka Admiral, [Self appointed, up from Captain!] Barnacle, as he lives on his boat at Spruce Harbour Marina, just down the Seawall from our place, will be accompanying me. Cora Lee is flying down on Thanksgiving morning as she has too, too many volunteer meetings to take time to drive with Le Due Buffoni! Let me know about B&E arrangements and we cat burglars will plan accordingly. Cheers, Patrizzio!

We changed our flights a little. We now leave early early on Saturday the 23rd so that will give us plenty of time to familiarize you with the household that you already know when you arrive on the 21st. Also some time to sample a couple of 21 year olds I've had lying around in the cabinet for a little while.

Hi again, Ricardo!

Thanks for speedy reply. Good to know that if we get snockered in Sonoma we have a day or two to recover! Notwithstanding, will probably still aim for the 21st, especially since you will be there and timing is not quite as critical. Cora Lee's nose wrinkled at the mention of the 21 year old babes! Funny how most The Brotherhood like our women young and our malt aged! Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Dennisovitch and Claire de la Lune!

Trust you are both well.
Perhaps we can get together in early December, (We are back by the 3rd), to catch up. Cheers, Patrizzio!
Hello Big Apple/Surfer People!

Trust you are both well. We arrived back in Vancouver on October 19th after three wonderful, wonderful months in Europe. Scads to do to catch up after being away for so long. Have included "snippets" from last few days in France/England for your reading pleasure while you sun yourselves, sipping Mai Tais with tiny umbrellas.
Thanks for lovely dinner invitation so give us a shout when you have unpacked! Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Jim and Christine!

Trust you are both well. Sorry that it has taken me so long to reply to your last message. Did enjoy the article on Yorkshire and the two clips, couldn't stop chortling!

On a much sadder matter, I gather Raymond informed you about Arthur's desperate situation. Very difficult, all around, so my heart goes out to him and Stella and the family. Haven't talked to either Sylvia or Ray since before this past long weekend so will call tonight to see what the latest word happens to be.

Was supposed to be cloudy for most of the morning/early afternoon here, with some rain forecast, so I timed things just right for a ride up to VGH to visit Paul, around 3:00 pm. Sun even started to shine and the view from the 10th floor of the cardio unit where he is sequestered was absolutely magnificent, the sun glinting off windows and buildings downtown and mirror calm English Bay filled with freighters, back-dropped by cloud covered North Shore mountains. Had a good visit with Paul. He is in good spirits, despite the fact that his surgery, (mitral valve to be repaired/replaced), keeps being delayed. He looks drawn and seems to have lost weight. Understandable, of course, given the fact that he has been hospitalized for almost two weeks or more. Still, he does enjoy company so glad he is now allowed visitors. If he doesn't undergo surgery in next few days, I'll pop by again. Another very busy weekend coming up so if I can't see him over next few days It will have to wait until I'm back from California. We are back on December 3rd.

Once again, Fondestos from Cora Lee. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Brenda Louise and Wally!

Trust you are both well. Sorry that it has taken me so long to thank you for your more than gracious hospitality. Lovely visit if ever so brief. Drive to Little Shuswap was a nightmare, let me tell you. With heavy, heavy rain it was like driving in a car wash, even before we were out of Kamloops proper, huge semis and SUV's throwing up blinding sprays. Fortunately, rain did let up a bit as we approached Chase and rest of way was quite tolerable. Still, I certainly don't like driving blindfolded!

Once again, lovely to see you both and thanks for beet juice. That probably allowed me to survive harrowing drive! Fondestos from Cora Lee. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Bill!

Trust you are well! We arrived back in Vancouver on October 19th after three wonderful, wonderful months in Europe. Anyway, just thought I'd say hello. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Legs!

Trust you are well! Where are you?  Care to join us for some killer Zins? Anyway, just thought I'd say hello. Fondestos from Cora Lee. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Brunello!

Trust you are well. Hanoi! Wow! I'm envious! Cheers to you and Chooch! Patrizzio!

Hello Baker Zircon!

Trust you are well. How go the fishes and loaves? We arrived back in Vancouver on October 19th after three wonderful, wonderful months in Europe. Scads to do to catch up after being away for so long. Have included "snippets" from last few days in France/England for your reading pleasure while you knead dough and count shekels.
We are back on December 3rd. Any plans to visit. We are in Parksville for two weeks, January 10th to 25th, house/cat sitting for The Millionaires, so you are more than welcome to visit/stay. Lots of bridge as Clara/Dusty will be along as well, at least for part of time. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi JWo!

Trust you are well. Did receive a couple of snaps from Linda but thanks anyway. How is Bob? Saw Penny in hallway here, a few days ago and she said she was seeing you later that evening, I think.
Look forward to seeing you in early December. We are back on December 3rd. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Linda!

Trust you are well. Thank you so much for the reunion pictures. Much appreciated. I know precisely what you felt like about having unanswered mail, etc. We arrived back in Vancouver on October 19th after three wonderful, wonderful months in Europe. Scads to do to catch up after being away for so long. Saw Penny, a friend of Joan's in our hallway here, a few days ago and she said she was seeing her later that evening, I think. I asked her to apologize to Joan for me as she had forwarded one of the pictures and I'd not had time to reply to that message! At any rate, hope you have been sleeping more peacefully ever since!

We will be back in Winnipeg next August so perhaps we can arrange a mini-IB reunion.
Look forward to seeing you if so. All the best. Cheers, Patrizzio!
