Laws too gentle are seldom obeyed; too severe, seldom executed. -Benjamin Franklin, statesman, author, and inventor (1706-1790)

We should have a great many fewer disputes in the world if words were taken for what they are, the signs of our ideas, and not for things themselves. -John Locke, philosopher (1632-1704)

Hi Patrick and Corinne,

Truly beautiful birthday girl.  Belated happy birthday Corinne.  We're melting here in the Okanagan heat, 34 degrees today.  I fortunately had 7 am tee times the past two days in the Penticton Open golf tournament.  I hope Tiger does better than me in the Open.  Grapes are loving the heat.   All the best in Blighty! Cheers, Peter

Hi to you both,

Thanks for the birthday wishes. Enjoying England. Have had wonderful weather. Off to the Lake District tomorrow. More later! Love, Corinne

Back home with my mom who is not doing well. This is the hardest of life's journey.
