Bad Boy Boé Blues: Wednesday, October 9th

There is nothing so despicable as a secret society that is based upon religious prejudice and that will attempt to defeat a man because of his religion. -William Howard Taft, 27th US president (1857-1930)

Too often we enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought. -John F. Kennedy, 35th US president (1917-1963)

The most perfect technique is that which is not noticed at all. -Pablo Casals, cellist, conductor, and composer (1876-1973)

 Hi again, Rosemary!

Thanks for quick reply. Sorry I didn't answer last night but by the time I was back from my wonderful ride along the Canal de Garonne, from Agen, almost to Moissac, our destination today, and back to Boé where we had docked for the night, supper was almost ready, (Osso Bucco, using a filet instead of a shank, by Flamin' and risotto, infused with mashed cauliflower, Cora Lee, mixed green salad, Patrizzio), and then we played bridge after washing up. Everyone was tired as it had been a long day, up early to say goodbye to Sheila and Des, who left to fly to Geneva, and then busy day in Agen, Sisterhood doing laundry, menfolk exchanging towels, bed linen at Locaboat and trying to sort out nagging electricla charging-recharging system, we all turned in around 9:30 pm.

At any rate, Cora Lee is on a gluten-free/wheat free diet so basically she can't eat anything with flour in it, (sauces, baked goods, and even some sausages, it turns out.) No bread, obviously and unfortunately, but rice and potatoes, and quinoa, an "ancient" grain, are fine. Thank you for inquiring but she is fine with adapting and has brought along such things as corn pasta, rice crackers to use with cheese, etc. All vegetables, fish and meats have not brought her any stomach distress so far. We would be happy to cook with either some of the gluten-free products she will have left or with any that we might come across before we arrive. Sunday night, perhaps.

I will talk to Sarge about finding your lovely home. As I said, I have a rough idea of how to make the twists and turns out of Chabeuil to Le Colombier. If worst comes to worst I'll get on my bike and scour the neighbourhood! Hello from all the gang to you and Andre. Thanks again. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Love the photos.. Especially the one of the canal, may have to paint that one but can't decide on oils and paint. I will look at it again this winter.

Checked the calendar and the only time we are busy is the Saturday night that weekend as we have a hockey game.  Last year the Blazers had a good chance of going all the way.  This year the team is young and the vets ( all of 19yrs) are having trouble.  It is fun nonetheless.

Later on in the month I might head off to Ottawa as my sister will be checking on a condo they are buying there before heading back to HK for Christmas.            If you come, keep the scotch hidden.....
