Blackwater Blues: Tuesday, August 13th

It's good to have money and the things that money can buy, but it's good, too, to check up once in a while and make sure that you haven't lost the things that money can't buy. -George H. Lorimer, editor (1868-1937)

There is a loftier ambition than merely to stand high in the world. It is to stoop down and lift mankind a little higher. -Henry van Dyke, poet (1852-1933)

Nicole Marie, this is the info on the Trivia night we are doing!!! Hope the Sutherland's can make it!!!

Hello Fellow Loco People!

I gather Flamin' is a tad more loco than the rest of us as it was my understanding that both Cora Lee and I had paid the full amount as well. If this is not the case, let us know but if not, Nice Try Flamin'! Guess you need to pay for your travel wardrobe!

Looking forward to seeing everyone on September 28th in Agen. Have been having more than a wonderful time ever since we touched down in London. Have included the entry for our visit to Tintagel last week, one of the many highlights of the stay in Cornwall, should you care to peruse it. Fantastic weather has made the entire trip even better. Fondestos to Cora Lee to one and all. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hello from Madrona,
Looks like a great trip so far!

We are madly getting ready to head to Van on the noon ferry Thursday.

Will see Kirsten for a drink at the hotel, then Bistro Pastis for our 15th Anniversary dinner (on the 15th).

Off to Amsterdam Friday around 6:30PM to start the European trip...

Will email from Amsterdam or Stockholm next week...

Looking forward to seeing Sarge and crew in Paris, but you may not be there yet?

(We are there from Sept 19-22)

Best to Cora Lee...Cheers, Grog

Hell Again,
Forgot to give you house sitting dates for next January:

We fly to Van on January 11th, return January 27th. Hope it works, and that you come early and/or stay late to visit the Manor, and share some wines! Cheers,Gregg

They were supposed to take the danger cliff sign down.

Hi Patrick Thanks so much for these photos and Lizard Diary entry.  Have a great time with Ayn and I hope Corinne's back feels better. Weather here is still amazing--now it actually is a bit too dry. Cheers

Today's ride to Carnon Downs:

Much of route to Carnon Downs is on the level, more or less, and on this section I was actually able to nudge my average, for the first time in this land of maddeningly frequent, steep grades, over 19 KPH. Soon dropped sharply as I had to climb punishing Greenwith Hill, out of Perranwell, after racing down Old Carnon Hill, out of Carnon Downs village itself. Think this may well become a ride of first choice as it offers such a good mix of flat and climb and it is picturesque beyond belief!
