Blackwater Blues: Sunday, August 11th

Our expression and our words never coincide, which is why the animals don't understand us. -Malcolm De Chazal, writer and painter (1902-1981)

Hi Patrick!

Hope all is well with you both. Days have flown by since we have been here and we have been walking our little socks off! Krissy is on the Sunshine Coast this weekend with Chloe and friends to attend a hen party for Nicole. Hate to imagine what their heads will feel like by Monday! I'm walking over to Marks in a short while to give him a hand with the floor and to help him install a wall unit. I have also convinced him that we should de clutter the place before Gayle gets around to cleaning and sanitising!! He has an old chair and sofa to get rid of although he is not sure where in Vancouver to take such items for disposal. I said there has to be a city dump somewhere!

Chloe popped over on Friday to see us. We told her that we will be vacating the condo for a week next week so she will drop in to check the place while we are gone. Our friends from the Delta are coming over on Tuesday for dinner then we are going back with them to stay overnight before heading out in their boat to Vancouver Island for the week. Alan is Commodore of his yacht club and they have an annual event over on the island each year.

Forgot to ask Chloe when she was here which keys unlock the bikes. Will check with her on our return. Don't feel like checking every one you have in you key chest!

Granville Island was so busy this weekend they had to stop the traffic coming in!  Gayle is now ready so we are going to head off. All good wishes Derek

Up at 6:54am. Seems that is the magic number, of late! Diaries, Cora Lee's back, ride, in reverse, to Mount Hawke and Porthtowan, drive, A 30, to Pool to have dinner with Gudrun/Steve.

Daisy's barn, dairy next door to Etherington Farm Shop, Cows going home to be milked, one looked at me as I rode past.

Stung by nettles on Minack coast walk, stung by a bee or wasp on ride to Trelissick with Derek, stung by more nettles at Lizard Lighthouse, coast walk, nothing on five trips to Oz!

Mount Hawke ride:
