Powder Coated Desk Blues: Sunday, January 5th

Hi Big Al et al!

Just  quick note to thank you for the final instal! Desk looks fabuloso indeed! View is so grand that when Cora Lee saw both the mountains and the desk she drew up eviction notice for Chloë and is serving it as I scribe! I'm wondering if she can stay at your cabin until she can find alternative accommodation? I think she will be able to afford the shed where you store your ATV's.

Anyway, after I dropped off her tree at the charity chipping set-up at Kingsgate Mall I made for home. As I walked in the door, Westpoint called to say my bike was ready so I turned around and went to pick it up. Sara, one of owners and one who sold me the bike initially, suggested I go for a ride just to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. Had wanted to go for a jaunt anyway so suited up as soon as I was back at The Islay Inn and took off for SP around 3:00 pm. Glorious day as you know so Seawall was pretty busy but I managed to straight-arm all the pedestrians on the bike path out of the way before they knew what had hit them, as well as drop-kicking a number of yappy, small dogs into False Creek. Latter manoeuvre is quite tricky as I had to coordinate un-clipping without touching Burning Ground, maintaining AVG and use my cell to record the splash. Multi-tasking at its best!

Pleased to say that the road surfaces in SP were quite dry so I was even able to hit 50km+ on the descent from Prospect Point all three times. Was a tad worried about icy conditions once sun started to go down, especially after Whirlygig's ice-induced nasty fall, (Rumour has it that had he not been so drunk he'd probably have sustained far more serious injury. As it was he was so juiced that he slid rather than fell from his bike!), but encountered no slick pavement at all. Stats for today's ride:

At any rate, do give Whirlygig/Jacob Two-Two a call about some advice before you look for a new bike. You'll need an ultra-lite when we go for 100km+ rides out of Madroña Manor, backwards with malt in our camel packs!

Thanks again for all the time, effort and great design work on the desk. Talk soon. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Powder Coated Desk and More!                          the desk looks great!!

Hello Lovely Linda and Sir Terence!

Trust you are both well. Healthy New Year to you both and to Jenny and Keith as well. I must apologize for taking so long to send along both greetings and snaps. No excuses but plenty of reasons!

Anyway, to make a long story short, we continued to have a marvellous time after we left Neffiès and in the twinkling of an eye it is already 2014! Much to tell but simply wanted to make contact and send along a few pictures.

Have you sold your house in Neffiès? Close friends, Tina and Trevor, from Adelaide, have rented house we were in for this coming September. I'd like to visit when they are there but not sure, given all sorts of other commitments, whether this will be possible or not. Any plans to visit Vancouver? Here is an interesting clip that gives you some sense of the city:

All the best for now. Fondestos from Cora Lee, (Corinne), and myself. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Pics: Evening we met at Les Goutailles; Next day at Château Smith! Babes and wine, what more can one ask for!!!
